In 1993 I was waiting tables at a cafe' with a dream of someday pursuing my passion for metalsmithing. After being invited to a friend's baby shower and having no money for a gift, I melted down some leftover sterling silver and created a rabbit-themed baby spoon. To my surprise, the spoon was a hit! During the shower, I was approached by a giftware representative about the prospect of creating and selling my little spoons. I was so thrilled with the idea that I took my Honda Civic to the bank, got a loan for $8,000, and I began Metal Morphosis, Inc. It was really tough in the beginning-creating, making, polishing and shipping all by myself. Beaten down and close to closing shop, my Grandfather told me that old story about walking to school up a hill in the snow with no shoes. I began repeating this little tale in my head when feeling overwhelmed with the determination of not giving up. Metal Morphosis and its concept began to gain momentum. I now have a great family of dedicated employees and our 800 sq. ft. has grown to 8000. Our products are still proudly made in the USA and I will forever design all of the products for Metal Morphosis. While living up to a standard of perfection, every single product is hand-finished and examined thoroughly. Our focus is to bring you the best quality products for the best value possible. Not only are you investing in quality but also a piece of artwork with a very unique story behind it. I thank all my family and friends who encouraged me and told me not to give up. I also want to thank my wonderful husband who has been my biggest supporter and my children who continue to inspire me everyday. I hope you enjoy Metal Morphosis' products as much as I enjoy making them. All of our products are made entirely in the USA. Everything is casted in Rhode Island and hand finished in our facility in Atlanta. Nothing is outsourced, not even the packaging. Everything is made of either 100% lead-free pewter or sterling silver. The unique way we finish the pewter and the fact that the pewter actually has a percentage of sterling silver really gives it that exceptional shine. All of our materials are FDA approved. They can easily be polished with a pewter polish found in your local hardware stores Click here to view all of Kaycee Binns' Metal Morphosis pieces available at DetailsArt |
